Sekkingstad organic salmon is farmed under strict but good organic principles, certified and controlled according to international regulations and standards.
More space for the salmon. Maximum allowance is 10 kgs per cubic meter of water, meaning 1% fish and 99% water.
All ingredients must be organic or natural. Content of fishmeal and fish oil is higher than in standard feed and marine sources must be sustainable. Pigmentation must be natural.
Cleaner fish is used to keep salmon free from sea lice. If fish need medical treatment the withdrawal period is twice as long as for standard salmon.
I minimize impact on nature there is no use of copper to clean nets. The sites used shall be fallowed 4 months compared to 2 months for standard salmon.
